Skeets qualified in 7 out of his 8 CPE runs at last weekend's Pasco Paws night trial !! He finished his Level 2 title...had a BLAST, and really enjoys this 'low-key-LOTS-of-action' venue: there's always something to do...and everyone cheers when you do it !!
As Skeets tells it: "I did a CPE night-trial this weekend: CPE is HUGE fun...I even 'mugged' the judge before my last run, she was a really nice lady, and I had her laughing as I did my very best "Tickle me, Elmo" all over her at the start line for Wildcard...oh yeah, I WON, too ! In fact, I Q'd, and placed in 7 out-of 8 of my runs this weekend !! I was the ONLY dog to Q in last night's Standard...the course was really FUN, but had this one section that made NO sense at all, so I showed everybody - including my buddy, the judge, how they SHOULD do it , then, I made Mom happy and did it the 'right' way...I was still 20 seconds UNDER time, with a 5 pt. fault for "creativity" and the Q, and 1st place !...but, my closest competitor, the BC who got 2nd, was WAY over time, and had 40 faults...and, another BC who got 4th made "triple digits" in faults...heeheeheehee...Mom and I teamed up to turn Snooker into a "trainwreck" , this BIG HUGE Luna moth flew RIGHT in front of my face - you gotta see these things, they're the size of a sheet of paper ! - just as I was supposed to do something for points, but I did some ELSE for points instead, so Mom had to think fast - and she "saved it"...but then SHE forgot to do the 1st obstacle of the closing sequence twice and we got whistled off...we were supposed to run to the Table to stop the clock, BUT, the next dog was right BY the Table waiting to start his run, and he's this other wild-n-crazy guy, Murphy, the Golden...and Murph is thinkin' we can get a game goin', so my Mom decided to NOT go to the Table and just "eat" the run. She found out later, that even though we got whistled off, we already had enough points to Q...which would have made me perfect for the weekend...she also told me I was a REALLY good boy for NOT helping Murph get into ( more ) trouble...so, in a certain way, I really WAS perfect for the weekend !!
My 'sister', China the GSD, really WAS perfect-for-the-weekend: she qualified, and placed 1st, in all her events !! I'm REALLY happy she gets to play, too. CPE is a great place for China, since they have Specialist classes just for the older doggies who still run REALLY good...just not as fast as us younger, wilder guys ! They don't make all the goofy mistakes as us, so, while it's not nearly as FUNNY, it's really 'educational'. As you can see in this picture, China taught me everything about Agility when I was just a puppy, and I am just SO proud of her !! "
